But what is an Ukagaka??An Ukagaka/Ghost (or 伺か or 何か depending on who you ask) is a little desktop companion that will chat with you and maybe do little tasks around your computer if you ask. I made a video explaining more about what they are and I also have a big tutorial site if you want more information! They're mostly meant to keep you company and amuse you AND WHO BETTER THAN THE WORLD'S NUMBER1 RATED SALESMAN1997
What can Spamton do? What CAN'T he do!! You can ask him questions, buy AMAZING PRODUCTS, play the lottery or roulette wheel and other fun things! He can also check for updates and update himself remotely!
Not only is that an INCREDIBLE DEAL, but you can also PET SPAMTON FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!! This gets its own line because it's JUST THAT GOOD!!
This perfect Spamton was made by Quonit and Zarla (that's me!!)! I did the shell and Quo did most of the coding and we both did the dialogue. That's two expert creators for NO additional cost!!
But now that you're sold, you're probably wondering how to install Spamton and begin your business partnership! Well don't worry, a tutorial is included with no extra charge!
Spamton needs a program called SSP to run. You can think of it like SSP is the game console and Spamton is a cartridge you can plug into the console. But DON'T WORRY - SSP is COMPLETELY FREE and is a very small and lightweight program! It has the SPAMTON SEAL OF APPROVAL
(SSP will work on all versions of Windows newer than XP! There ARE ways to get it working on Mac and Linux machines, but I don't know much about those since I don't really have them to test. You can read more about that on my ghost tutorial site!)
Spamton uses a Deltarune balloon made by Cherry! It should install along with him, but if it doesn't you can download it here and install it just like you installed his nar by dragging and dropping it onto Emily. His menus were laid out with this balloon specifically in mind so they may look weird if you use a different one. He also relies on the Determination Mono font, which is included in the Deltarune balloon's files. If you go into your SSP directory and go to SSP\balloon\deltarune_balloon, you should see DTM-Mono.otf and DTM-Sans.otf inside. Install those two fonts and he should be good to go!
If Emily won't install the files
What you can do instead is unpack the files manually. If you don't have an unzipping program (I think this is included with Windows now? but), I use 7-zip myself, it's free and pretty versatile.
First, extract the ZQ_SP_SPAM-TON.nar into a folder (a nar is basically a renamed zip file, any zip program should be able to unpack it. 7-zip can do it, for example). You should end up with a ZQ_SP_SPAM-TON folder, and inside the folder there should be two subfolders, called "ghost" and "shell". If everything's in place, cut the "ZQ_SP_SPAM-TON" folder, and paste it into the ssp\ghost folder, so the ssp\ghost folder should now have both an emily4 folder, and a ZQ_SP_SPAM-TON folder. Then close and reopen Emily, and see if Spamton is listed under "change ghost". If so, you're good!
Spamton's desktop tray icon is a tiny picture of his face. If you don't see him, double click the icon! He might be minimized.
You can pet Spamton by moving your mouse back and forth over his head (you don't have to click)! You can also punch him by double clicking his face (it'll ask you if you're sure you want to hit him, so you can't do it by accident if you're worried).
Double-clicking his body will open up his menu for all the great deals you're thirsting for! Right-clicking him will bring up the SSP menu. You can use "NO ONE IS AS [[Classy]] AS ME!!" to change ghosts, and "Balloon" to change the balloon he's using.
To check for Spamton updates, right-click him and go to "HUNGRY FOR MOAR DEALS??" near the top of the menu, or hit Ctrl-U when he's the focus. He'll check for any new things and update himself automatically! I post about updates for him on my tumblr sometimes, and I have a DW entry with comments open here if you have something to report.
If you want him to stay on top of your windows, right click him, then go to Options - Preferences, then the Ghost(2) tab in the big menu that pops up. Check "Always Show Foreground" and that should do it.
If you want to make him bigger or smaller, right click him and go to shell scaling, then choose the percentage you like.
If you want to uninstall SSP, just delete the SSP folder. If you just want to uninstall Spamton, delete the ZQ_SP_SPAM-TON folder inside the SSP\ghost folder.
You can use the T key when he's the focus to make him say something, and the R key to make him repeat what he just said! You can also hold down CTRL to speed through his text.
